It had been over 13 years since I lifted weights and I wasn’t sure where to start. I quickly realized that I needed the help of a personal trainer. I’ve been working with Patrick Service for the last 9 months and it’s been transformational! Patrick has taught me the proper techniques and form that I needed to do the exercises. He’s always very patient with me and never makes me feel dumb or inferior. He pushes me when I need to be pushed but in a gentle way. Patrick has a very upbeat and positive attitude which makes my sessions with him a fun experience. I feel stronger mentally and physically. I don’t think I could have made the progress I’ve made without the help of Patrick. He is Ahh-Mazing! I’m so glad I invested in my health!!!
– K.B.
Personal training with Patrick Service has been the greatest gift. I thought I was fairly healthy for a forty-something woman. I thought I was doing enough cardio workouts to keep aging, and unhealthy behavior at bay. However, what I learned, pretty quickly, is that strength training, hard work, a lot of planning, can be the healthiest step to living better, and increasing my overall capacity to be well. The real metric in Patrick’s high level quality of personal training was that my HGB A1C went down 0.3% from May 2018 to May 2019. That is a pretty substantial reduction and the main lifestyle behavior I incorporated was strength training with Patrick from January 2019 until present. Patrick’s personal training approach is comprehensive with a proper warm-up, balance, agility, cardiovascular, strength, and flexibility. He is an excellent personal trainer and a great person! I am extremely happy with my personal training experience, and I look forward to continue working with Patrick to help maintain the fantastic health he’s helped me to attain. To summarize, Patrick gave me muscles again in mid-life! He’s a miracle worker!
– J.M.
Patrick is an exceptional trainer. I began working with him 3 years ago with the goal of getting back into shape, as I began my retirement. He carefully worked with me to build strength, improve balance, core and general wellbeing. One of his many talents is his inherent sense and knowledge of how much to push a person to get to the next stage of wellness. A gifted teacher, he guided me to new knowledge about nutrition, how the body works, how to exercise when on my own, and the benefits and reasons behind each exercise. I have greatly benefited from his knowledge and ability to impart it. His guidance, patience and sensitivity provide me with the motivation that I need to continue to reach for the next step. Because of Patrick, I am a different person now with clear health goals and new knowledge. Thank you, Patrick!
– B.V.
Patrick is an outstanding professional. He proved to be an expert in designing a program suitable for my specific needs. He is so thoughtful that considered scenarios including when at the gym, at home or traveling to create the best exercise combination for different circumstances.
Patrick is typically prepared with the exercises for your session and emails you a summary in addition to a hard copy that you will find in your folder at the gym. It is obvious how conscious he is to do an excellent and neat job and how determined he is to help you make a progress.
Patrick is also updated in other areas related to wellness. I was very impressed to see him participating at the Plant Based Prevention of Disease (P-POD) and being so well informed about the science of healthy eating.
With thousands of studies pointing out towards whole plant based nutrition as being the key towards wellbeing, prevention of cancers and reversal of many chronic diseases, Patrick inspired both me and my husband to be very attentive to what we eat and gave us helpful suggestions in this regard.
His conversation is intellectually stimulating and makes the training session very palatable. Patrick is a true “Game Changer” and continues to overpasses my expectations.
I am very fortunate to have such a complex, intelligent and talented fitness expert to coach my continuous physical improvement.
– E.C.
About 1 year and a half ago I started to come regularly at UNC Health Care and to have a personal trainer and by chance I got Patrick Service. Before that I thought I know how to train myself and I did not have a personal trainer, doing exercises as I thought it is OK.
Well, working with Patrick for about 1 year and a half, I can say that I have been fortunate to meet and work with him because he is gifted with talent, knowledge and patience in tailoring the exercises based on your goals and standards of health.
My goals have been to have a better posture, to lose weight and to get some strength and muscles and at present time I can say that I achieved my goals because Patrick took me from that condition of beginner, explained the basics and then more advanced knowledge about how to work and how to stretch, how to keep a correct pace of the exercise and much more and of course the work itself. Besides the knowledge of training, Patrick knows a lot about what it is a healthy diet, vegan diet, and that helped me to keep a good balance between exercise and diet and I am vegan, feeling better at my age as a retired man, than I felt when I was in my twenties.
I will continue to work in the future with Patrick because it is not only an excellent trainer on the professional level but also a special person with a great and pleasant personality.
– M.C.
“Patrick Service is by far the best personal trainer I have ever worked with. The expertise and guidance he has provided has helped me to achieve fitness and health results I once thought impossible. He is always supportive and encouraging while motivating me to push beyond my perceived limits. He has helped me to build strength, improve balance and flexibility, and increase endurance. His consistent updates to my training keeps me progressing while making the workouts interesting and fun. Investing in myself by working with Patrick has had a significant and positive impact on my health and overall well-being!”
– R.L.
Patrick has done an excellent job in helping me change my lifestyle to incorporate fitness in my daily regimen, despite my hectic schedule. He is the consummate “ring man” Who is always in my corner and one of my biggest advocates in my life goal of improving my health.
