WHAT IS SEMI-PRIVATE TRAINING (PARTNER TRAINING)?

Semi-private training is when two or three people train with a personal trainer.  When it is two people, it is known a partner training.   When it is three people, we call it trio training.  Both training options are excellent to consider when working with a certified personal trainer?   

What is a major reason participants sign-up for semi-private personal training?

Accountability to others is a major reason why many people sign-up.  When there is no accountability, your progress may slow. When you find the correct partner to exercise with, you are more likely to stick to your workouts.

In addition, small group trainings, that include friends and family, can help to improve healthy habits and build positive relationship into the future.

What are the two types semi-private training that you offer?

  First, there is the personal and partner training hybrid.  The second is a traditional partner training option. 


PERSONAL AND SEMI-PRIVATE (PARTNER) TRAINING HYBRID

DESCRIPTION: Periodically, two individuals want to train together, however their ability levels do not match.  One person may be new to exercising while the other person may be a former athlete and not a stranger to exercise.... and they want to be supportive of each other.

That's where the "personal and partner training hybrid" comes in. This training program is similar to partner training, however; you obtain the benefit of receiving 1:1 personal training for 6 - 30-minute lessons (but actually get 60 minutes of the trainer's time) and partner training 6 - 45-minute lessons.

For the personal and partner training hybrid to be effective, this type of training is only available when you invest in a 12 lessons pack.  See below for more details about the personal and partner training hybrid.

KEY POINTS TO CONSIDER WHEN YOU COMBINE PERSONAL AND PARTNER TRAINING

  • Personal and semi-private training (partner training) lessons (2 people with 1 trainer): This service is ideal for clients who want to share the cost and training experience together. Clients who invest in personal and partner training lessons can be of different fitness levels without a great deal of training experience.
  • This works because both partners are present together for all lessons.  During the 30 minutes personal training lessons, partner A works with the personal trainer for 30 minutes.  At the same time, partner B does cardiovascular exercises on his/her own.  This may involve using body weight (jumping jacks, high knees, jumping rope etc) and/or machines (treadmill, elliptical, bicycle) for 30 minutes.  Partners switch.  Partner B now works with the personal trainer for 30 minutes while partner A does cardiovascular exercises on his/her own for 30 minutes.
  • The personal and semi-private training (partner training) sessions give you  45 minutes – 60 minutes of the trainer’s time.
  • Because of the attention to detail and time necessary for developing each clients program, the minimum number of lessons required for this package is 12
  • After both partners complete the initial personal and semi-private training (partner training) hybrid lessons, they may invest in regular partner training lessons.  They may also do the personal and partner training hybrid lessons again to learn more individuals exercises.

SEMI-PRIVATE TRAINING (PARTNER TRAINING)

DESCRIPTION: Grab a partner and bring an open mind to learn more about your potential to improve your health. Each training lesson will build on each other.

My aim for you is to make progress in all areas that we agree that you want to work on. By training with a partner, or with a small group (three people [our trio training]), at times there may be competitiveness and other times there may be collaboration to achieve an exercise task together.
