WHEN SHOULD I FOLLOW-UP FOR AN IN-PERSON SESSION WITH MY TRAINER?
A good program shouldn’t stay static for long—but it also shouldn’t change so often that you can’t make real progress. The sweet spot for following up with your trainer is usually every 4–6 weeks.
Here’s how to think about it:
Why 4–6 weeks works
That’s enough time to actually adapt and progress (get stronger, build endurance, improve technique).
It gives your trainer real data—weights, reps, energy levels—to make smart adjustments.
It prevents the program from going stale or too easy.
You might check in sooner (every 2–3 weeks) if:
You’re a beginner and still learning form
The plan feels way too easy or way too hard
You’re getting bored or losing motivation
You have a specific short-term goal (like an event)
